Ski tracks in Koli

  • Ski tracks in Koli

Welcome to enjoy amazing skiing in Koli!

Among the breathtakingly beautiful fell landscapes of Koli, you can find pistes over 80 kilometers at their best. Koli's uniform 25 km lighted track is the longest in Finland.

The skiing season in Koli starts as soon as there is a few centimeters of snow and the tracks can be primed. The first to be opened is a lighted trail that runs through the Koli area, and which guests have easy access to. A unified lighted track runs from the Loma-Koli area all the way to Koli Freetime in Kopravaara. In the Loma-Koli area, Lake Käränkälampi is surrounded by a lighted trail, with which you can choose either a 5 or 6.5 km long route.

In addition to the lighted track, there are numerous other shorter ski routes. The three and seven kilometer long ones run in the stunning fell landscape of Koli National Park near Ukko-Koli fell peak. The 9 and 11 km long tracks will be opened on the ice of Lake Pielinen by mid-February at the latest.

Koli's good snow conditions allow cross-country skiers a season of up to even 5 months each year. And as Koli is situated in much souther than Lapland, the daylight time is much longer in Koli in winter than up in the north. You can also certainly find Finland's most varied ski terrains in Koli: the tracks on the fells offer demanding uphill rises with the reward of long fast downhill slides. The tracks go through the shadows of age-old forests and the open field landscapes. Skiers who prefer flat terrain can head to the tracks on Lake Pielinen under the open sky where the skiers can also visit the Pielinen islands or ski across the lake to Vuonislahti following the tracks. Also the lighted trail (5 or 6.5 km long routes) around Lake Käränkälampi is of easy to medium level. Stunning scenery characterises all of Koli ski trails.
