The area is very beautiful and peaceful open dry peaty forest. The nearby shore of lake Käränkä has a shallow beach opening to the south,  great for swimming, fishing and icefishing and Nordic skiing in the winter. A rowing boat available. This apartment is perfect for both cross country and downhill skiers. The Nordic skiing trail goes right by the cottage. A ski storage room at terrace.

The hiking route over the Käränkävaara fell is a fascinating nature experience. Playing frisbeegolf in Rintasenvaara fell is a fantastic chance to have fesh air and excitement at same time. Both of these forested high hills are located nearby the Hiisiranta holiday apartment area.
